Can I watch airshow without reserved seats?

Yes.


In case of rain, will Advanced Reserved Seats be refunded?

If the event is cancelled. Advanced Reserved Seats will be refunded.


Should I travel early?

Heavy traffic can be expected on the day of and day before the event. Travelling early is highly reccomended. If possible use public transportation due to traffic.


Can I bring radio band receiver?

Yes. You may bring a radio that receives only.


Is there parking for motorcycles?

Yes. Motorcycles & Mopeds parking lot entrance will be at the Contractors' Gate. 5:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.


Can I pay for Reserved Seats at the event?

Yes, you can pay for Reserved Seats at the event but they are selling out quickly. You can purchase Advanced Reserved Seating at your local Family Mart.


Do you need admission ticket to enter?

There is no admission fee. This event is FREE!


What time will the airshow start?

The airshow is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The airshow schedule may change to best please and satisfy our guests under given weather and other conditions.


What time will the gate open?(updated)

The Main Gate will open at 7 a.m. for pedestrians only. North Gate and Contractors' Gate will open at 5 a.m. for inbound traffic. All modes of traffic (pedestrians, bicycles, vehicle, mopeds, motorcycles and buses) are not allowed in after 1:30 p.m. At 1:30 p.m. all gates will be closed in preparation for outbound traffic only starting at 2 p.m. Please arrive early to enjoy the events.


I’ll be driving my vehicle. Is parking on base available?

Heavy traffic backups are expected on May 5. There is limited parking available. In 2008, the vehicle parking lot was full by 11 a.m. We strongly encourage our visitors to use public transportation. There will be direct event bus transportation at JR Iwakuni Train Station to the Main Gate from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. (Y160 adult, Y80 children) Bus transportation leaving base will run from 2 to 5 p.m.


Is public transportation available to the base?

Yes. Bus transportation from the JR Iwakuni Train Station to the Main Gate of MCAS Iwakuni will be available from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.


May I access to the base on bicycle?

Yes. Bicyclists are encouraged to park at a temporary bicycle parking lot next to JR Train Sanyo Line railroad track located roughly 200 meters from the Main Gate, or walk their bicycle and park as directed after entry through Main Gate. Visitors are not allowed to ride on a bicycle aboard the base during the event day.


May I bring pets/animals aboard the base with me?

No pets are allowed.


May I bring my own food or bento box aboard the base?

Yes. Many food and refreshment booths are also available at FD. Some of American food served includes Steak, Hot Dogs and Hamburgers, and Pizza.


What time will the gate close for entry?

All gates are closed for inbound traffic at 1:30 p.m. in preparation for outbound traffic starts at 2 p.m. Please arrive early to enjoy all the scheduled airshows and ground events. Events will end by 4 p.m.


What time the event will be concluded?

Events will conclude at around 4 p.m. The last schedule air show event is JASDF "Blue Impulse," which will end prior to or around 4 p.m. However, visitors are reminded that entry to the base ends at 1:30 p.m.

Refrain from bringing oversized bags! Oversized bags are subject to inspection and it may slow you down when coming aboard the Station. Knives, model guns, fireworks, BBQ grills and any other items that may cause possible fire are prohibited, with exception of a cigarette lighter.
